About

I have been a traveler and a writer for much of the past 37 years. Currently being found in South Korea up near the border with the North and backpacking around Asia when not teaching English at a small rural school. My first major trip was a whirlwind trip of Europe by coach when I was 19 years old, since then I’ve visited West Africa, returned to Europe, lived in Edinburgh for a year and now find myself in Asia after avoiding a career with the provincial government of British Columbia.

Born outside of Vancouver in 1973, and educated in Creative Writing and Greek and Roman Studies at the University of Victoria – class of 1998 (I think.) I’ve since seen over 30 countries and looking to add more.

Teaching in South Korea opened up Mongolia, Vietnam and Cambodia to my list of places visited, with more on the horizon.

  3. Good stuff Byron.
Some of your pictures look like Mexico and other countries I’ve visited; especially the one with all the overhead wired.
I should think of doing a Blog myself but it’s hard to teach us ol’ farts new tricks ~~ therefore I’ll stick with my bi-weekly Group Talk Messages; besides after 17 years (mostly in Mexico) it’s hard to find something new to write about.
Take care and keep in touch when you can.

  4. Byron, where have all the years gone. It seems just yesterday you were a cub scout, driving me crazy. Glad to see you have been enjoying life and doing well. I do have a blog, but its really nothing compared to your pages. BTW love the photo series, so much nicer than ‘words’. Even the most creative writer might find it hard to describe what your pics do…..
