Friday’s Photo of the Week (Fire Escape Flare)

Despite frequently snapping images of brickwork and masonry and an architectural style from a century gone by, I still enjoy more modern buildings, especially when they’re done with style.

This is one such modern building. There is likely no good reason for an exterior staircase but the designers included it and it pops out of the structure. Adding flare to an otherwise cuboid design. I don’t know a lot about modern architecture and building safety codes, but if more new construction complexes added some distinctive touches, a lot more people would welcome the renovations to the skylines in developed countries.

Personally, I hope it’s not a stairwell, but a water slide.
